The Commission for the Promotion of Public-Private Partnerships (COALIANZA) of Honduras has announced that it has received one Expression of Interest for the modernisation and development of San Lorenzo port terminal from ICTSI Américas B.V., a subsidiary of Philippines-based International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI).

COALIANZA published the Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEOI) in July. The EOI will be evaluated by a committee comprised of representatives of the Secretariat of Finance and National Port Company, alongside COALIANZA. If ICTSI meets all of the requirements for the project, the committee will notify the original proponent of the project and initiate a tender process between the two companies.

The estimated total investment of the project is US$66 million. It is intended to improve the efficiency and volume of cargo handling, which currently includes bulk, liquids, solids, containers, new vehicles and general merchandise, and expand and diversify the portfolio of port services available.
