The sole bid of Sacyr was received in the call for tender of the Second Concession Route 5 Los Vilos - La Serena section road project. Only one bid was submitted from the 19 companies that expressed interest to participate in the project.
The economic opening is scheduled for December 26, and if Sacyr presents an offer that is within the official budget, the project will be awarded to the company with a total project investment of US$509 million.
The project involves the development of a total extension road of 245 km in Route 5 Los Vilos - La Serena section that covers in the north of Los Vilos and ends in its interurban section at the south of Coquimbo, Chile. For the interurban section, different types of works are proposed, these being update, complementation and new; among others, treatment of slopes, widening of platform, rectification of geometric layout, new structures, service streets, pedestrian walkways, etc.
The urban road will have an express route of three tracks in each direction and service streets on both sides; also, pedestrian walkways for pedestrian cross connection, sidewalks, and street furniture.
The construction phase is expected to commence in 2021.
