The Torc Housing Partnership consortium comprising Senda Infraestructuras, a subsidiary of OHL, and its strategic partners Equitix, Kajima and Tuath, have delivered the first homes of the residential building project that they are developing under a public-private partnership: Social Housing Bundle 2 (SHB2), in Ireland.
These 28 homes are located in Roscommon County and represent 50% of the phase to which they belong. In addition, the works carried out have included urban planning actions on the site where the housing development is located.
The SHB2 initiative comprises the construction and maintenance, over 25 years, of 465 new sustainable social housing units - 110 flats and 355 houses - with an investment of more than EUR130 million (USD158.26 million). The project, which is at an advanced stage of implementation, is subject to the availability payment model (fixed payments by the grantor), is the Government's second social housing investment package in the region and covers the counties of Cork, Kildare, Clare, Galway, Waterford and Roscommon.
This is the first contract of this nature to be awarded to OHL's subsidiary in the promotion of concessions field and its development is being carried out using the Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology and Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (nZEB) criteria, in accordance with the requirements of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (2010/31/EC).
