The province in Nova Scotia, Canada announced the intention to select private developers for the new health care facilities in Nova Scotia county. The project includes design, build, finance, maintain new community health centers and new long-term care facilities in North Sydney and New Waterford. The works also include a new laundry center in North Sydney. This project is part of CBRM Health Care Redevelopment project.
A consulting firm will be hired in the next few weeks to lead the PPP process. This will ensure the government is ready to go to tender as quickly as possible once the planning of these new facilities is complete. While the facilities will be built using the design-build-finance-maintain approach, the expanded services will continue to be operated by the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
