Norsk Hydro ASA has made a PLN1.1 billion (US$274 million) offer to acquire Alumetal S.A.
This strategic acquisition by Hydro enables the expansion of its offerings in low-carbon and recycled aluminium products derived from post-consumer scrap. The European Commission has granted clearance for Hydro's acquisition of Alumetal, paving the way for collaboration and support from Hydro to enhance the position and growth of Alumetal. Despite the acquisition, Alumetal will maintain its independent status as a stand-alone company within the Hydro group, continuing to operate with its existing business, organizational, and operational structure. As part of the deal, Norsk Hydro will pay PLN78.69 in cash/share.
