Nine offers received to improve 325 km of the national road network in Paraguay

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has received nine bids to improve 325.2 km of the national road network in the Eastern and Western regions of Paraguay.

The proposals, submitted by five consortia and four independent companies, range from PYG 102 billion (US$ 13 million) to PYG 194 billion (US$ 25 million).

Participating companies and consortia:

  • Construpar SA
  • Ñeembucú Consortium (made up of MM Sociedad Anónima and Augusto Ortellado Narváez).
  • Northern Road Consortium (made up of Topography and Road Engineering SA (T&C SA), Isacio Vallejos SA Construction Company and Rovella Carranza SA Paraguay Branch).
  • Central Vial Consortium (with DC Engineering SA, Vialtec SA, TR Construction SA and Construction Initiatives Limited Company).
  • Northern Chaco Consortium (made up of Benito Roggio e Hijos SA, LT SA and Constructora Heisecke SA).
  • Tecnoedil SA Construction Company.
  • Ocho A SA
  • Concret-Mix SA
  • Mariscal Estigarribia Consortium (made up of Enrique Edgardo Diaz Benza Cano and Asuncion Construction Company).

In total, 18 companies are involved in this tender, considering both the companies that submitted their bids independently and those that are part of consortia. The contract, with a duration of 18 months, is divided into 12 months for rehabilitation and 6 for maintenance. The works are financed by the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) as part of the “Program for the Improvement of Integration Corridors and Road Reconstruction.
