RTS Operations, a joint venture between Malaysia's Prasarana and Singapore's SMRT, has awarded nine contracts worth RM 1 billion (US$ 320 million) for rolling stock and system works of Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link. RTS Operations is responsible for the design, construction, finance, operation, and maintenance of the link.
Out of these nine contracts, four are for core systems. CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co Ltd was awarded the contract for Rolling Stock. Siemens Mobility Sdn Bhd and Siemens Mobility Pte Ltd were awarded the contract for Signalling and Platform Screen Doors. Sapura Rail Systems Sdn Bhd was awarded the contract for the remaining two core systems: the Communications System and the Integrated Supervisory Control System.

The construction work for the project is already underway and expected to be completed by 2026. Once operational, this rail link will provide better and faster connectivity for communities living and working on both sides of the Causeway.
