PROINVERSIÓN has announced that Nine companies showed interest in the Longitudinal de la Sierra Highway Section 4 project in Peru.
The project is set to be awarded in the Q1 of 2024. Companies wishing to prequalify as bidders must fulfill specific requirements, including demonstrating their operational experience of at least 100 km of roads within the last decade and ensuring a minimum equity of US$131 million.
This initiative, co-financed by the state and overseen by PROINVERSIÓN on behalf of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), involves the concession delivery of 950 km connecting the regions of Junín, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Apurímac, and Ica. Among these, 770 km are designated for initial periodic maintenance (including the construction of a 5 km bypass in San Clemente – Ica), and 180 km are allocated for rehabilitation and improvement, aiming to enhance passability, comfort, and safety. The total investment is estimated to be around US$1,000 million, and the concession period will span 25 years.
