The Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) of Nigeria has issued a compliance certificate to the Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC) for the Outline Business Case (OBC) of the Obolo-Afor Truck Transit Park PPP project, which involves the development of a state-of-the-art modern truck park facility in Enugu state.
With the compliance certificate issued, the NSC is able to begin the procurement process, expected within the next two months. The successful bidder will also deliver a motel, car maintenance facilities, restaurant, warehouse, bus terminal, church and mosque, among others facilities within the truck park.
The project is the first of its kind to be developed in Nigeria and is aimed to improve safety and security on Nigerian highways. The total investment is expected to amount to NGN1.2 billion (US$3.32 million).
