The federal government of Nigeria has announced to begin the procurement process for 12 highway corridors across the nation under Highway Development and Management Initiative (HDMI). These 12 highway concessions will act as pilot projects for public-private partnership (PPP) procurement. The government has launched as well an e-portal dedicated to HDMI to initiate the concession process, which will help the authorities to maintain competition and transparency throughout the concession process.
The portal has been scheduled to begin operations on March 29, 2021. The RFQ for the pilot highways will be launched on the same day.
