The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has signed the concession extension contract for the operation, maintenance and services of the air terminal of the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport in Palmira, Colombia.
The Aerocali SA concession will undertake 17 interventions, which include significant tasks such as slab replacements, installing a new cover for the cargo terminal, renewing the asphalt layer on the runway, enhancing the air conditioning system, and conducting slope stabilization works on the eastern side. Additionally, the project involves adapting the fire network pump and upgrading the constant current regulators for visual aids.
Meanwhile, as maintenance works progress, the ANI and the "Airports of Suroccidente" are collaborating on the structuring of the Private Initiative. This initiative estimates investments totaling US$4.2 billion. It encompasses the construction of a new control tower standing at 42.5 meters tall, the installation of 24 new boarding bridges, construction of a new dual-purpose building spanning 30,700 square meters for both national and international purposes. Furthermore, it includes building a new parallel national facility covering 15,800 square meters, erecting a new low-cost terminal building spanning 7,300 square meters, expanding the loading platform to 35,000 square meters and the commercial platform to 82,500 square meters, as well as constructing a new building for Aerocivil.
