NHS Trust seeks partner for hospital concession

Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals National Health Service (NHS) Trust have recently opened a tender process for the catering and retail concession contract for the Hull Royal Infirmary one of the two main hospitals of Kingston upon Hull, a city and unitary authority in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England.

National Health Service (NHS) Trust wishes to award a services concession contract to an operator who will:

  • Design, build, finance, operate and maintain a new entrance at Hull Royal Infirmary to include units for catering and retail.
  • Provide and operate catering facilities (patient meals are excluded) for staff and visitors and retail facilities at the Trust's 2 sites at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital.

The expected concession contract length is 10 years, in any case, it could vary between 7 and 10 years dependent on proposals received.

The estimated investment of the design and build is GBP2.9 million (US$4.2 million). Additionally, the estimated current value of turnover in relation to the services is GBP3 million (US$4.36 million) but the Trust has an aspiration to increase this.

The deadline for submission of applications or receipt of tenders is June 20, 2016 at 12:00 (local time).
