The Agency for the Promotion of Private Investment (PROINVERSIÓN) has announced a new tender for the Improvement of the Sewerage and Wastewater Treatment System in Puerto Maldonado, Tambopata, Peru.
The Puerto Maldonado Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) initiative encompasses the development, renovation, expansion, operation, and maintenance of the collection, treatment, and ultimate disposal systems for municipal wastewater within the city of Puerto Maldonado. This endeavor is crucial in ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of both the primary collection system and wastewater treatment, all while adhering to stringent quality standards. By doing so, it mitigates the risk of contaminating the Tambopata and Madre de Dios rivers.
The WWTP Puerto Maldonado project aligns with the Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation (MVCS) strategy. Alongside the Large Cities Project and the Storm Drainage Project, it aims to address gaps in drinking water, sewerage, wastewater treatment, and rainwater drainage in Puerto Maldonado.
