As part of its Resilience Program to address and minimize power disruptions, commuting delays, and economic losses in the region, NJ TRANSIT is implementing the NJ TRANSITGRID project (Project).
The Project is a first-of-its-kind microgrid designed to provide reliable power during emergencies for NJ TRANSIT’s Morris & Essex and Hudson-Bergen Light Rail lines as well as Amtrak’s critical Northeast Corridor. NJ TRANSITGRID will be able to power these services even if disconnected from the commercial power grid, ensuring that local and regional rail services remain operational longer and are fully restored quickly.
NJ TRANSIT invites firms qualified to implement and manage all or part of such a project to a Market Sounding Forum to discuss the agency’s overall project goals and objectives, as well as opportunities for investment partnership arrangements to deliver the Project.
Registration for the activity will be until November 22, 2019. Interested parties can access the press release here.
