New information published for Buenaventura- Buga corridor concession in Colombia

The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) in Colombia has published project specifications for the Buenaventura- Loboguerrero- Buga corridor. The project aims to improve the connection between the Port of Buenaventura and the interior of the country. The concession is part of the 5G Bicentennial concessions program.

The concession contract includes the construction of two new short tunnels as well as the replacement of equipment in the existing 17 tunnels totaling 9.3 km. It also provides for the rehabilitation of 15 km of the Simón Bolívar road, completion of 155 km of existing road, construction of 35 km of a new second road along with maintenance and operation of 244 km of highways.

The contemplated investment is COP2.37 trillion (US$628.67 million). The construction period for the project is 5 years with an operation & maintenance period of 24 years. The authority expects to award the concession by the first quarter of 2022.
