Octopus Real Estate has raised a further GBP314 million (US$436.63 million) for its Health Care fund, focused on the UK care home sector.
With this new fundraising, spanning the March and June 2021, the current total value of the fund is over GBP1 billion (US$1.39 billion). The fund received commitments from a range of institutional investors from the UK, Europe and Japan. In addition, several local government pension schemes got interested in the fund, such as Greater Manchester Pension Fund and schemes investing via the Brunel Pension Partnership pool.
The fund will invest in a pipeline of high-quality care home assets across the UK. Health Care Fund operates as an impact fund in line with the IFC’s Impact Principles with a commitment to create a positive social impact by solving the shortage of quality care home beds in the country.
