The Ministry of Health (MINSA) has formalized the assignment to PROINVERSIÓN to design the new operation and maintenance management contract for the National Institute of Health of the Child of San Borja (INSNSB) in Peru.
The new task involves designing a PPP for a 20-year duration, as opposed to the existing one, which is set for 10 years and is scheduled to expire in 2025. PROINVERSIÓN and MINSA are presently engaged in the Project Formulation phase, which encompasses the examination of the technical data furnished by the Institute. In the first half of 2024, the project's structuring will be finalized, and during the second half of that year, a public tender will be initiated, ultimately leading to the selection of the winning proposal.
Under the present contract, the private operator of the INSNSB is responsible for managing the so-called "green coat" services, which encompass sterilization and clinical pathology services, as well as the "gray coat" services encompassing building maintenance, facility management, and electromechanical equipment upkeep. Additionally, it covers the maintenance of clinical and non-clinical equipment, and the operation and maintenance of general services, including laundry, food, and security, among others.
San Borja Children's Health Institute specializes in treating complex pediatric cases from birth to 18 years of age. It serves as a leading referral center, not only nationally but also within Latin America, accommodating patients from Ecuador and Bolivia. The institute boasts 254 hospitalization beds and 59 ICU beds, focusing on five main areas: cardiovascular care, neurosurgery, bone marrow transplants, neonatal/pediatric surgeries, and burn patient treatment. Additionally, it actively engages in research, education, and healthcare provision.
