Liverpool City Council has announced that Netomnia is expanding its ultrafast full-fiber broadband network in Liverpool, UK.
The fiber optic network will provide ultra-fast broadband access to more than 234,000 locations. The network will allow uploads and downloads at speeds up to 10Gbps, 17 times faster than the UK average. The project will enable the establishment of new businesses in previously inaccessible regions, facilitate the growth of local businesses, empower them to compete with larger brands and foster enhanced productivity and innovation. The project will improve access to healthcare services and opens up new avenues for learning and development.
Investment in the project is up to GBP70 million (US$88 million). Netomnia is a fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) broadband service provider dedicated to connecting homes and businesses. The company is constructing full-fiber broadband infrastructure and networks across the United Kingdom that offer symmetrical multi-gigabit services, allowing clients to get reliable internet speeds that meet their requirements.
