Neoen signs contract for solar concession in Mozambique

Neoen has reportedly signed a concession contract with the Mozambican government for the construction of a solar power plant in the north of the country.

The estimated cost of construction of the power plant is more than US$50 million. It will be installed in Metoro, located in the district of Ancuabe, Cabo Delgado province and will generate 41 MW of electricity, which will be sold in the region.

This project is part of the government’s programme to accelerate the country’s electrification, while also improving the quality and availability of electricity in the northern region of the country.
