NDFA selects preferred bidder for Irish social housing bundle 2 PPP

The National Development Finance Agency in Ireland has announced preferred bidder for its social housing bundle 2 PPP project. The project will be developed by the bidder 'Torc Housing Partnership'.

In this Equitix led consortium, equity investment will be provided by Equitix Ltd., Kajima Partnerships Ltd., JJ Rhatigan & Co., Obrascon Huarte Lain S.A., and Tuath Housing Association. The construction contractor is  JJ Rhatigan & Co. and Obrascon Huarte Lain S.A. While the facilities management will be handled by JJ Rhatigan & Co. and Obrascon Huarte Lain S.A., tendency management will be handled by Tuath Housing Association.

The Equitix led 'Torc Housing Partnership' consortium was shortlisted with three other bidding teams ARC Consortia, BAM PPP PGGM Cooperatie U.A., and Comhar Housing. These consortia included the participation of companies such as FCC Construccion S.A., Aberdeen European Infrastructure Ltd., Aramark Ireland Holdings Ltd., BAM PPP PGGM, BAM Building Ltd., Macquarie Corporate Holdings PTY Ltd., John Sisk & Son Ltd., Oaklee Housing etc.

The housing bundle includes the development of up to 1,500 housing units as a number of bundles of sites, provision of services to the developments over a 25 year period following construction that will include the maintenance and upkeep of the housing, and a return of the asset after 25 years in prime condition. 465 of the 1,500 housing units will be located in the following 8 sites: The Walk, Roscommon Town, Co. Roscommon (53 housing units); The Miles, Clonakilty, Co. Cork (52 housing units); Slievekeale, Waterford City (58 housing units); Ballyburke, Galway City (74 housing units); Shannon East, Co. Clare (51 housing units); Poundhill, Skibbereen, Co. Cork (50 housing units); Oakwood, Macroom, Co. Cork (50 housing units); Nancy’s Lane, Clane, Co. Kildare (77 housing units).
