The Myanmar Government has decided to split the tender process for the new Yangon City development project to attract more investors. The project includes the development of power supply and distribution systems, a public transport system, cyber connectivity infrastructure, a municipal waste disposal system, natural gas supply and distribution systems, and a convention center. After this decision, the scope will be divided into multiple tender processes.
The first phase of the project will be developed in 88.30 sq km area. The authority has already received bids from the earlier tender process, the companies will be given the opportunity to bid again and the reimbursement for the costs will be made if another bidder is chosen.
