The State Administration Council (SAC) in Myanmar is moving forward with the development of deep sea port at Kyauk Phyu Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The authority has closed bids to provide legal advisory services for the project on August 10, 2021.
The project is being funded by China, and its part of China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The port will be part of part of China Myanmar Economic Corridor (CMEC) and will provide trade access to Indian Ocean.
