Muse chosen for US$ 650 million Wythenshawe regeneration

Manchester City Council has named Developer Muse as the delivery and investment partner which will work to deliver “transformational investment” in Wythenshawe town centre.

Muse is set to transform the 1970s shopping center and surrounding areas over the next 10 years, which will include:

  • New public square
  • New shops
  • Net zero carbon commercial
  • Community and cultural space
  • More than 1750 new affordable homes

The joint venture partnership aims to deliver the UK’s first Positive Energy District (PED) in Wythenshawe, featuring:

  • Energy-efficient buildings
  • Native trees, 
  • Urban allotments
  • Roof gardens

The total investment cost is expected to exceed GBP 500 million (US$ 650 million) with work to begin as early as 2025.
