The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has a public hearing for the socialization of the potential private initiative for a port concession in the municipality of Ciénaga (Magdalena), Colombia.
Promesa Futura, a subsidiary of Sociedad Portuaria Ciénaga LNG SA, has applied for a 25-year concession to develop a potential port. The project aims to enhance and optimize a total area of 3,978,925 m2 for public use, comprising 3,976,058 m2 of maritime area and 2,867 m2 of land area. The port will feature berthing and reception facilities specifically designed for bulk cargoes of liquefied natural gas, located 7.5 km offshore from the beach. The concession contract is currently in progress, and it is anticipated that in the 4th year of the concession, approximately 60,960 tons of cargo will be transported, with services provided for a gas tanker. This initiative represents a significant opportunity for the development of maritime infrastructure and the facilitation of LNG operations.
In the port area of Ciénaga (Magdalena), a multipurpose and intermodal public service maritime terminal is set to be developed. As part of this project, a 1.49 km long and 11 m wide access walkway (viaduct) will be constructed, complete with a conveyor belt, pipe support, and a designated area for vehicular circulation. The new port facility will include a maritime dock with approximate dimensions of 333 m in length and 22 m in width. It will feature a concrete superstructure with either concrete or steel heads and steel piles. This infrastructure will be equipped to handle various operations, including the loading of coal, coke, and hydrocarbons, as well as the loading and unloading of containers and general cargo. Furthermore, a linear ship loader will be installed, enabling efficient loading onto coal and coke vessels.
