The Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA) and MDC Power Holding Company, an entity owned by Mubadala Investment Company, have signed an agreement to co-develop three water desalination plants across the Northern Emirates.
Under the terms of the deal, three desalination plants will be built in three locations in Ras Al Khaimah, Um Al Quwain, and Fujairah. The objective of the collaboration is to meet the growing water demand in the UAE by using an efficient water generation system.
The first phase of the project is scheduled to be completed by 2021.
