MTOP carries out maintenance work on Catamayo – Gonzanamá road

The Ecuador Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP) has carried out maintenance work on the Catamayo – Gonzanamá road.

The work is focused on the El Portete sector at 25 km of a crucial road. It involves clearing landslides and building terraces to maintain the road and improve connectivity between Loja city and the cantons of Catamayo, Gonzanamá, Calvas, Sozoranga, and Macará, as well as northern Peru. A significant amount of machinery has been deployed, including an excavator, mini-loader, backhoe, and two dump trucks.
