The Philippines Public Private Partnership Agency has announced that the Manila Metro Rail Transit (MRT) line 7 public-private partnership (PPP) project is 67% complete and will start partial operations by Q4 of 2022.

The project concessionaire is SMC and is fully financing the construction. The MRT 7 line will serve about 350,000 passengers per day and after the upgrade is completed, this figure will increase to 800,000 passengers per day. MRT 7 will reduce travel time between North Avenue in Quezon City and San Jose del Monte, Bulacan from two to three hours to 35 minutes, reducing traffic in Metro Manila.

The project will relieve the pressure on the Manila Metro and make passenger journeys more convenient and comfortable.
