The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced that the Manila Metro Rail Transit (MRT) line 7 public-private partnership (PPP) project is expected to be fully operational by 2023.
The project progress rate is 65% and readiness for partial operations is planned for December 2022. The project is expected to accommodate 300,000 to 850,000 passengers daily and in 10-15 years the MRT7 will be able to cope with the growing number of passengers.
The project includes the construction of power supply systems, computer and communication systems, signaling systems and automatic fare collection systems.
