The Argentine Ministry of Transport has signed Agreements with Chinese Companies to Revamp Railway System in Buenos Aires.
- The first project signed with China Railway International Group (CRIG), involves renovating two tracks, connecting them to the Buenos Aires metro, upgrading electrical and fiber-optic signaling systems, and building a control centre and workshops.
- The second, also with CRIG, involves renovating 94 km of tracks, upgrading signals, refurbishing stations and crossings, providing rolling stock, and extending the line by 15 km to the Pilar Industrial Park.
- The third agreement, with CRRC Sifang, focuses on renovating the Federico Urquiza line in Buenos Aires suburbs. This will include electrification, station renovation and upgraded signalling, as well as the supply of trains.
These projects aim to enhance railway infrastructure, electrify lines, and provide better services.
