Tashkent State Unitary Enterprise (SuvSoz) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Asian Development Bank (ADB) to provide consultancy services for the Tashkent Sewage treatment plant concession in Uzbekistan.
The project is being procured under the public-private partnership (PPP) model including modernization and management of the water supply and wastewater infrastructure. European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has already completed a feasibility study for the project and is awaiting approval for further long-term investments. The project scope includes the construction of a wastewater plant and water treatment plants as well as the development of intake tanks, well replacement, replacement of 420 km long pipeline and 17 km of critical improvements to the sewarage network.
Once complete, the betterment of the sewerage network will serve inhabitants residing in the districts of Yunusabad and Almazar.
