MoU Signed for phase II of US$1.2 billion port development project in Ecuador

The Ecuadorian Ministry of Transportation and Public Works and DP World Ecuador signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that contains general guidelines and a roadmap that will allow the Posorja Deep Water Terminal to advance the works of Phase II of Posorja Port.

The extension of this pier by an additional 232.5 m will bring its total length to 700 m. Through this agreement, DP World will also furnish the port terminal with new and advanced equipment, enhancing efficiency and operational capacity to accommodate up to two Post-Panamax vessels simultaneously and at full capacity.

Construction of this project is projected to be completed within 18 months. The additional infrastructure and equipment will further solidify the international standing of the Port of Posorja, renowned for its efficiency, technological advancements, exceptional service, and safety measures, including the utilization of three cargo scanners to monitor all incoming shipments.
