The federal government and government of Punjab in Pakistan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) to conduct the feasibility study for Leh Expressway and Circular Railway Track between Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The train service will be located alongside Nullah Leh, with its route connecting the Soan River to the Kashmir Highway. CCECC will conduct the feasibility study and give an assessment of the project’s technical, legal, commercial, and financial viability and budget estimates. CCECC will fund the study which is expected to be completed within three months.
The project is planned to be implemented on the Public-Private Partnership model.
