Ranhill Utilities Bhd plans has teamed up with China Energy International Group Co Ltd (China Energy) for the proposed development of a public-private regional drinking water supply facility project in Indonesia.
The project involves establishing the Djuanda source-to-tap water supply system with a capacity of 605MLD, aiming to deliver clean water from the Jatiluhur dam to four regions: DKI Jakarta, Bekasi City, Bekasi Regency, and Bogot Regency. It encompasses the construction of the intake, transmission pipeline, water treatment plant, and primary development network.
The project operates on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, with Ranhill holding a 74% stake, PT Varsha with 10%, PT PP Persero and PT PP Infrastruktur with 15%, and Maynilad with 0.16%. The funding structure comprises 30% equity and 70% debt, with a concession period of 30 years. Currently, the project's feasibility study is under evaluation by the Indonesian government.
