The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) has announced the opening of new works at Arica's Chacalluta Airport.
The project involves an investment of US$ 80 million and will double the surface area of the facility, add a modern control tower, new facilities for the DGAC and 5 new boarding gates. The airport will increase from 5,352 square meters to 12,184, with a new control tower, 5 new boarding bridges and 510 seats in the boarding lounges, which will benefit more than 230,000 people. The works also include new DGAC facilities, including a control tower, SSEI headquarters, electrical substation, air traffic information office (ARO), and a new cargo terminal building.
