Macquarie Infrastructure Partners V (MIP V) and Odinsa have signed a strategic alliance to create an investment platform that will manage Odinsa's current road assets in Colombia.
The partnership will initially manage the portfolio of Odinsa’s existing transportation projects in Colombia, which includes Pacífico 2, Túnel Aburrá Oriente, Autopistas del Café, and Malla Vial del Meta. The consolidated valuation amounts up to COP4.3 trillion (US$1.129 billion). The new roads platform will be one of the largest in the region and will explore extra opportunities to create value by the development of new road projects in Colombia, Peru and Chile.
Fondo de Capital Privado will be established for the creation of the platform and will be owned 50% by Odinsa S.A. and 50% by MIP V. The aim is to develop transformational initiatives, providing improvements to transportation infrastructure in Colombia and other Latin American countries.
