The state of Minas Gerais has launched an Expression of Interest procedure (PMI) for consultants in order to develop feasibility studies of four PPP project in Uberaba, Brazil.
The projects involved are the following:
Interested parties must register by June 29. The PMI was launched on May 30th and companies have 30 days to register.
Local firm Companhia Paulista de Desenvolvimento (CPD) had already requested the authorization to prepare the mentioned Feasibility studies.
The state of Minas Gerais is working on other PPP projects. For example, in late January, the state launched an Expression of Interest procedure (PMI) for consultants in order to prepare the procurement of a PPP project for construction of new headquarters of Brazil's State Traffic Department (DETRAN).
In late February the state of Minas Gerais, through the Department of Economic Development, had also launched a public consultation for a convention centre PPP project, the Centro de Eventos da Gameleira. The concession contract will involve the design, build, operation and maintenance of the convention centre for a period of 30 years. The project cost is estimated at R$400 million (US$167 million), of which R$127.6 million (US$53.3 million).
