Miami dade county signs proposal for monorail and transport hub

Miami-Dade County in the USA has signed a two-step interim agreement with a consortium of Genting and BYD for the development of a monorail system and transportation hub on NE 13 Street between North Bay Shore Drive and Herald Plaza. The hub will serve as multimodel transport which will facilitate access to the proposed monorail, current metro mover system, and new bus terminal.

The agreement will provide the consortium to carry out the initial pre-development activities for 18 months. The project procurement includes finance, design, build, operate, maintain, and pay availability payments for the first 30 years of operation. The estimated project cost is US$ 586.5 million.
