The Miami-Dade County in Florida, USA has canceled the procurement process for the Rickenbacker causeway concession and annulled the RFP notice for the project.
The authority stated that the initial approach for the project was not the best in terms of resources. The county plans to restart the procurement process again in a more deliberate and step-by-step manner that includes key stakeholders and the public.
The causeway project is planned to replace the Bear Cut Bridge on the four-mile Rickenbacker Causeway with the aim to provide safety for bicyclists, pedestrians, and vehicles.
