Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Communications and Transportation in Mexico have announced an investment in public infrastructure. The Ministry has initiated 873 tender processes for MXN 8.7 billion (US$ 454.60 million).
Among them the first five road infrastructure PPP projects will be formalized - the 5 PPP projects represent MXN 18,850 million (US$ 984.97 million) in investment spending. The PPP road projects are listed below:
1. Doubling the urban viaduct of Santa Catarina with a cost of MXN 4,800 million (US$ 250.81 million) in the state of Nuevo León. The viaduct is 7.9 kilometers long and it joins the Monterrey-Saltillo highway.
2. Decongestion of Ixmiquilpan - a 32 km road section, part of Durango-Yerbanís highway
3. The three-lane extension of the Tuxtla Gutiérrez-San Cristóbal de las Casas highway
4. The alternate road Ventura-El Peyote
5. Decongestion of the Lagos de Moreno, Zitácuaro-Maravatío and Ecuandureo-La Piedad (part of the Western Road Network).
