Meridiam has acquired 15% stake in Autopista del Sol from Ferrovial for €110.8 million (US$116.23 million) in Málaga, Spain.
The transaction was completed as a result of Cintra exercising the put option it had since 2019 when it sold the French fund 65% of the Ausol I and Ausol II toll roads. These assets, which Ferrovial received in awards between 1996 and 1999, have now been fully sold off.
With this transaction, Ferrovial’s divestment of the project has been completed.
