Global investor and asset manager based in Paris, Meridiam, is set to acquire the 85% stake of Autopista del Sol (Ausol), a concessionaire of the toll road of the Costa del Sol, Spain, after the agreement with Cintra, a subsidiary of Ferrovial, and Unicaja Banco.

Citra will divest 65% interest from the Ausol and maintains 15% stakes with a sale option reserved and has granted to Meridiam. The deal represents a EUR474 million (US$532.66 million) of investment.

Separately, Banco Unicaja has sold its 20% stake in Ausol to Infratoll Concesiones, a company controlled by Meridiam Infrastructure Europe III, for an amount of EUR137.6 million (US$154.63 million).

Autopistas del Sol is a concessionaire of the toll road of the Costa del Sol, in Spain, that consists of two independent motorway concessions Ausol I and Ausol II. Ausol I opened to traffic in 1999 and its concession expires in 2046, while Ausol II began operation in 2002 and its concession ends in 2054. Both add up to a total of 105 kilometers of road, which connects Malaga and Guadiaro, in Andalusia.
