The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center, through its Capacity Building Division (CBD), has signed a Memorandum of Agreement for Orientation on the Philippine PPP Program.
The orientation session was designed to offer participants a comprehensive understanding of the Philippine PPP Program. It covered essential PPP concepts, providing insights into the principles and frameworks that guide the successful implementation of PPP projects. Participants were introduced to the legal frameworks governing PPPs, including the relevant provisions of the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) Law, which serves as the cornerstone of PPP initiatives. By delving into the intricacies of the development and approval stages, participants gained practical knowledge and tools to navigate the complex landscape of PPP projects. The orientation aimed to equip them with the necessary skills to effectively contribute to the planning, execution, and management of successful PPP initiatives in the Philippines.
During the orientation session, an important topic of discussion was the partnership between the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in advancing ICT plans and programs in the Philippines. USAID, as a key partner, provided valuable insights into its role in supporting the country's ICT sector through the Better Access and Connectivity (BEACON) project.
