The East West Railway Company (EWR Co.) has launched market sounding for the development of a new rail line between Bedford and Cambridge, located in east-central England. The line will form the Central Section of East West Rail, which will connect Oxford and Cambridge upon completion.
EWR Co., established by the UK government, is seeking to procure a number of specialist partners to assist the Development Phase of the Central Section programme, with potential to also support the company in the Delivery Phase of the programme.
EWR Co. intends to conduct a market engagement exercise for the project in February 2019, and has published a market sounding questionnaire for interested parties to complete. For more information, see the Business Opportunity.
The Central Section is targeted to enter service in the mid 2020s.
