Marguerite has closed the sale to PreZero Warszawa, a member of Schwarz Group, of its 50% interest in PreZero Zielona Energia, the SPV operating the Energy-from-Waste plant (EfW) in Poznań, Poland.
In 2012 the City of Poznań awarded to the special purpose company, formed by SUEZ Polska and Marguerite, the contract to design, build and finance a modern waste processing facility capable of processing 210,000 tonnes of mixed municipal waste per year and to operate it for 25 years. The EfW plant is the first large PPP project in the waste sector in Poland and is located in the industrial zone of Karolin.
The plant has been in commercial operation since 2017 and it processed municipal waste from Poznań and 8 neighboring municipalities associated with the Poznań Agglomeration Waste Management Association. After ten years of involvement in the project and nearly five years of operation, Marguerite is selling its stake in the project to its co-shareholder, PreZero Warszawa.
