Mapletree Investments has announced its acquisition of 8,192 operational beds across 19 cities in the UK and Germany.
The acquisition boosts Mapletree's UK portfolio, increasing the total bed count to over 17,000. Through its operating platform managing two brands, Student Castle and Capitol Students, Mapletree gains direct operational oversight of the acquired portfolio, thereby strengthening its operational capabilities. This newly acquired portfolio comprises various student accommodation properties offering extensive amenities and convenient proximity to universities. Strategically located in key university cities such as Bristol, Cambridge, Durham, Edinburgh, Oxford, and York in the UK, as well as Bremen in Germany, these assets are strategically positioned. Since entering the student housing market in 2016, Mapletree has expanded its student housing portfolio to encompass 33,000 beds across 47 cities in the UK, the US, Germany, and Canada, with total assets under management (AUM) reaching US$6.2 billion.
