The Government of the Republic of Maldives, through the Ministry of Finance, has launched the pre-qualification tender for the development of the Accelerating Renewable Energy Integration and Sustainable Energy (ARISE) Project with the support of the World Bank.
The ARISE project involves the construction of solar plants in two installation lots under the Design, Build, Finance, Own, Operate, and Transfer Basis of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) investment scheme.
The first one is the development of a 10 MW floating solar array in Addu City. The second lot is for the installation of 11 MW of ground-based plants in Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, Kulhudhuffushi City, Thinadhoo, Eydhafushi, and Hinnavaru.
The selected developer will also be awarded the standard power purchase agreement (PPA) for 15-20 years.
The deadline for the submission of documents to participate in the tender is on March 12, 2020.
