The Ministry of Finance in Malaysia has stated it's intending to proceed with Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed rail (HSR) line public-private partnership (PPP) project. The resuming of the project depends upon the discussion with the Singapore government. The project will be about 375 km long and stop at eight stations – the termini in Bandar Malaysia and Singapore, and six intermediate stations in Putrajaya, Seremban, Ayer Keroh, Muar, Batu Pahat, and Iskandar Puteri.
The governments of Singapore and Malaysia expects the project to be operational by January 01, 2031, instead of the originally scheduled date December 31, 2026, due to delays. Once operational the project will be the first urban high-speed railway transportation project in Sout-East Asia.
