The ESM Macedonia has signed a public-private partnership (PPP) concession for the 100MW photovoltaic solar power plant with Solarpro Holdings and Fortis Energy. Each company will be responsible for the development of one 50MW solar PV plant located in the area of an old mine in Oslomej in northern Macedonia.
The total investment value for the project is EUR70 million (US$86 million) with a concession period of 35 years. The project will be implemented under the Build-Own-Operate-Transfer delivery model. After the concession period, the infrastructure will be transferred to the authority. During the concession period, ESM will receive approximately 18% of the energy produced from each plant.
