The Colombian National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has received two bids for the Barranquilla International Airport concession and no bids for the concession of the Airports of Armenia, Popoayán and Neiva.
The two bids for the Barranquilla International Airport concession were submitted by:The concession is expected to be awarded on 30 December 2014. Construction works are expected to start by october 2015.
The total investment for the Barranquilla International Airport is estimated at P$345,543 million (US$156.5 million). It involves the a pavement upgrade, the upgrade of the lighting system and the passenger terminal, the provision of new equipment and the development of a new cargo terminal, among others.
The concession of the Airports of Armenia, Popoayán and Neiva has not received any bids. The total investment for the three airports would be around US$130 million.
The tender processes for the two concessions were launched in 2013. EOIs were submitted in September 2013 and a total of 10 consortia were shortlisted in October, but finally only two teams have bid for the Barranquilla International Airport concession.
Last month we reported that ten bidders were competing to develop a new terminal at Matecaña airport through a public private partnership (PPP) project. The airport, which is located in the city of Pereira, has a total project investment estimated at P$90.66 billion (US$41 million).
