All losing bidders that participated in the tender for Sofia Airport concession have filed complaints to Bulgaria´s competition authority arguing the decision of the transport ministry of Bulgaria.
The consortiums which filed the complaints are MAG-BCEG Consortium, SSB-Copenhagen Consortium, Fraport Bulgaria and Aeroports de Paris-TAV Consortium.
The concession for the airport was awarded earlier this month to the Sof Connect consortium composed of Meridiam Eastern Europe Investments, with Flughafen Munchen named as an airport operator. The winning consortium's offer was awarded 86.12 points out of 100.
Aeroports de Paris-TAV Consortium offer was ranked second with 80.31 points and Fraport Bulgaria came in third with 80.19 points.
The 35 year concession concerns the operation and management of all buildings, facilities and visual air navigation systems within the airport territory, which spans a little over 5km2. It also involves the construction of a third terminal, which must be completed by the tenth year of the concession.
